Steve Longbottom

Studio manager

Steve started in the industry at 15 years old working as a live engineer for a 7 piece Jive band.

Following a love for music, he went on to Huddersfield University and during his final year studying Music Tech and Audio Systems,  started building Vibrations. His dissertation in sound isolation and acoustic treatment was applied to the studio design and build you see today.

Over the last 10+ years Steve has made constant improvements to the studio and equipment as well as building up a substantial PA Hire service.

Alongside managing the studio, Steve continues to work alongside musicians from all over the UK to produce great music and he also engineers at live events to bring music to life for large audiences.

The experience he gained whilst on his placement year at Purple Pro Audio, was central to his own development as an engineer and so Steve continues to offer these opportunities in the studio, working alongside Huddersfield University to do so.

Abi Swift

Placement student

Abi is currently studying BMus Popular Music at The University of Huddersfield and is undertaking a placement year at Vibrations Studios.

Music has always been her passion: from playing the drums since she was 8, Abi went on to study Music at Bradford College, where she furthered that passion upon discovering the world of music production and recording, 2 skills which she will improve upon whilst working here.

Being in 2 bands, a budding songwriter and producer, radio host and freelance drummer for the likes of Prince Re:Imagined, Vijay Venkat and Band, Song's for The Season and more, Abi is 'music mad', and her enthusiasm and energy for anything even vaguely music-related truly shines through.
